Getting rid of my last name in Windows Live Messenger 2011

Windows Live Messenger 2011 tries to force people to use their real first and last name as their display name. There is no more display name option in Messenger, and the only way to change the name is via Windows Live profile settings on the web, where the web page requires a that both a first and last name is input. I went to a page showing unicode spaces and tried pasting those as my last name. Most resulted in an error, but one finally worked. I think it was U+202F narrow no-break space. It seems I don't have a space as my last name; the last name is gone.

After hours searching on google for a way to remove my last name, this finally worked. I love you.

Shame on Microsoft for forcing users to use a last name and jump through hoops to hide that from people. I don't want the world to know my last name.

Windows has the Character Map application (charmap.exe). In Windows 7 you can run it by typing charmap in the Start Menu and pressing enter. There you can double click somewhere to select some unicode character, copy it from there, and paste it. The U+202F Narrow No-Break Space is between these two arrows if you want to copy it from here: --> <--

If it doesn't work, try U+FFA0 Halfwidth Hangul Filler, copy it from here -->οΎ <--

Thanks a lot lala! U+202F doesn't work anymore but U+FFA0 does :)
